CERTIFIED MEETING PROFESSIONAL (CMP)

WHAT IS THE CMP ?
Le Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) de MPI est une certification reconnue mondialement, axée sur les connaissances et l'expérience professionnelle des intervenants du milieu de l'événement.
MPI’s Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) is a certification that is recognized internationally, based on the professional knowledge and experience of stakeholders in the meeting and events sector.
This program recognizes individuals who have achieved the highest standards of professionalism in the industry, through:
- a level of knowledge and performance required for certification;
- actions and involvement that promote the development and enhancement of the profession;
- adherence to industry practices, ethics and standards.
WHY THE CMP ?
Recognition : This certification recognizes professional planners who have demonstrated a high level of experience, expertise and knowledge, providing peer recognition.
Competitive edge : this certification can be advantageous when negotiating a promotion or during a job search.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?
In order to qualify for CMP certification, candidates must:
- possess a minimum of 24 months (with one of the required diplomas) or 36 months of experience in the industry;
- complete an in-depth questionnaire on their experience;
- complete an internship of 200 hours or take a minimum of 25 hours of continuing education in an accredited institution.
Following the analysis and approval of their applications, candidates must pass a written exam (multiple choice) to assess their knowledge. Once these steps are successfully completed, the candidate will receive CMP certification.
