Founded in 1972, MEETING PROFESSIONALS INTERNATIONAL (MPI) adopted the mandate of bringing together special event professionals, representing them before regulatory bodies, business circles and media, developing need-specific tools and training activities, and providing opportunities for dialogue and networking to develop and promote professional activities.
For what purpose? The goal is to improve the quality and productivity of events, and to make meetings, conferences and special events the primary communication tools and critical components of an organization’s success. MPI has been successfully accomplishing this goal for the past 35 years.
MEETING PROFESSIONALS INTERNATIONAL is the world's largest association of meeting professionals, with over 24,000 members in 70 chapters around the world. Montréal is the first city in the world to have a French-speaking MPI chapter. Incorporated in Quebec under the name Association internationale des professionnels en planification de réunions et congrès – MPI Montreal & Quebec, the Association comprises a network of professional planners and suppliers in the events industry.
Pooling the resources of an international association and the expertise of local professionals has helped to design information tools and training in French, conducting professional activities offered in both official languages (English/French) and introducing the first French-language conference for event professionals: CONVIVIUM.
MPI is the recognized leader in the meeting industry. It responds to the diverse needs of its members and non-members through its commitment to quality training, the goal of which is the continuous improvement and commitment to excellence in the meeting industry, while ensuring that high professional standards are maintained.
MPI offers training tools and activities covering all aspects surrounding meeting, conference and special event planning: administrative management, new technologies, new food trends, protocol, professional ethics, site selection, budget planning, development of thematic activities, novel industry developments, security, international trade, etc.
Moreover, being the largest network of meeting professionals, MPI helps to forge strong links between planners and the many suppliers of industry products and services.
You can be proud to be part of this professional network, a leader in the special events industry.
